The Stars Align For Survivor

After dazzling viewers and critics alike this year, Australian Survivor is set to return to our screens in February 2020. But not just any Australian Survivor. No, next year we will roll out a stunning All Stars season of this beloved and increasingly successful show, drawing on the more than 100 contestants who have tried to outwit, outplay and outlast each other in previous seasons.

As our chief content officer, Beverley McGarvey, said at the 10 Upfronts last month: “All of us at 10 are massive Survivor fans and we have all been dying to get to an All Stars season from day one. We have assembled a compelling and unmissable line-up of Australian players.

Australian Survivor is a show that attracts a premium, young audience no matter what is happening on other channels and platforms. It brings people to television.”

Australian Survivor will give 10 a highly entertaining point of difference in the first quarter of 2020, offering people a strong alternative to a tired “cooking” show and an increasingly sordid “dating” show.

We haven’t announced the full cast of All Stars yet, but here is a teaser… Phoebe Timmins, Brooke Jowett, Nick Iadanza and Felicity Egginton from season one; Henry Nicholson and Mark “Tarzan” Herlaar from season two; Mat Rogers from Champions V Contenders/season three; and David Genat from Champions V Contenders/season four.

This year’s Australian Survivor took on all challengers and won, with its capital city total TV audience up 10% on 2018 and huge growth in BVOD viewing and social media interactions. The show ranked #1 in under 50s and all the key demographics in its timeslot.

Oh, and get set for more blindsides, gameplays, rice, scheming, lying, incredible challenges and edge-of-your-seat Tribal Councils, as we will have a second 2020 season of Australian Survivor later in the year.
